Don’t make me get up
Caption me – Heli-gull!
Description: The picture is mostly a well-tended short-grass yard/garden surrouunded by taller greener and trees, including some lilacs. Standing in the middle of the open space is a gull, wings raised high and moving so rapidly that they’re just a blur in the air.
Tabbs puts her feet up
Description: Lovely tabbygirl Tabbs has claimed a computer chair covered by a blue blanket, and is looking thoroughly relaxed. She has rolled onto her back so far that only the back of the chair has stopped her from going all the way over, and her belly is upwards, her forepaws tucked against her chest, one hind leg partially extended and the other tucked up entirely, with the arm of the chair in the way of both. Her tail is spread across much of the seat. Her position (or the lighting, or both) enhances the clean black stripes on her legs. Text reads, at the top, “Walking up the wall having failed,” and at the bottom, “Tabbs put her feet up.”

Something a bit different.
These honeybees are a swarm that was collected this morning. We’ve now emptied them out of a skep on to a sheet that leads up to the entrance of a small hive – a ‘nuc’ – and the bees are all marching up and in. This is quite usual with a swarm. Nice peaceful bees (as those in swarms usually are) just wanting to get into a safe and dark space with their queen.
