Memorial: Badger’s Jewel

Photo (of heart-kitteh Jewel) by Badger

Badger emailed me Sunday night to say: Well, it’s 10:30 P.M. and I am just back from the frantic run to the emergency vet care hospital. My beautiful Jewel had some kind of stroke followed by seizures. Couldn’t stand up, jaw was locked and legs thrashing like she was trying to swim. That combined with her IBD was just too much. So, she has crossed the Bridge to be with my other furkids and to meet my hubcat.

Only thing we can do is send love and healing to you, and wish peace and sunshine to Jewel.

Memorial: jd’s Blueberry

jd sez: Could you post the photo of Blueberry up on the site, with a note that he is about to take his final journey to the vet?

He is seriously ill, with dementia and possibly a cancer, and is frightened and in pain despite every effort to comfort him.

Lord Blueberry, CEO of Halfastash Enterprises (makers of invisible racing cars for cats) has brought much joy into the world.

He will cross the bridge very shortly and I would truly appreciate it if his send-off reflected that joy, so that he can feel loved and supported in his final journey.

Unfortunately, that were over 4 hours ago. I hopeso that it was a gentle crossing for poor Blueberry. He has many new friends to race with now and no more pain or fear, even though I’m sure his handsome lordship will leave a huge hole behind. -pk

Memorial: jd’s Mozart

(Got this emeow this morning:)

I am sowwy to announcify dat my kitteh Pet Me Amadeus Mozart has died. Last night, he slipped into a coma and died. He’d had dementia for some time.

The rescue shelter he came from originally thought him dead when they found him – his fur was so matted and dirty he could barely move, and he was terribly thin.

Even with years of help, he never re-learned how to clean himself and regained only limited mobility. What mattered, though, was that he learned he could be loved.
